Fight Night Preparations
If you want a video of me explaining and actually performing this, along with personal one on one support and videos for all kinds of things, you will need an upgraded personal support plan. ----> link
1) Reboot your internet equipment (router and modem) either early in the morning of the day of the event, or up to a few hours before (at least before 3pm central time) to ensure your signal is fresh and isn't full of noise in the line. Make sure your speed tests are solid.
2) Make sure you are updated. If you have run a manual build update recently and all your apps are working for the most part, then you should be good. If you haven't, run it early that day to be sure.
3) Press the red media button twice and be inside the media player ahead of time (be inside the media player by 4pm and stay in there) instead of waiting to enter the media player late. This is to avoid possible heavy server demand from absolutely everyone trying to enter and update all simultaneously.
4) Go into each of the main Premium and sports add-ons to identify where in the list the fight is located in each respective add-on so that way you have a good idea of where you are going to go to watch and where you can go as a 2nd or 3rd backup location just in case one isn't working well for you at any time during the event.

Why do you have to do all this prep?
Firstly, preparation is required to do practically anything. All corporations do it as well. I am sure even the mega giant's in the streaming industry also beef up their servers to handle capacity when season premiers of new "exclusive" shows they have are airing. You just see none of it on your end. This style of streaming is different and requires user participation to help run smoothly.
You also see a form of preparation in the retail sales market. During Black Firday, what happens at every Walmart or Best Buy? Lines of people that re ready to beat up or kill each other to get inside. These companies take steps to prepare, by sometimes changing the layout slightly to create paths for people to follow, having areas roped off to guide, and by having "all hands on deck" staff wise to help check out and move people thrhough as quickly as possible.
A walmart may have lets say a capacity of 5,000 people at any given moment, but what happens when all 5,000 people try storming in at the same exact time instead of filing in gradually? People get trampled and sometimes die.
So with our media player, it contacts the servers to load up the required information to load up our custom menu. If everyone waits to the last second to either run their updater or enter into the media player, the server can become gridlocked and crash or just become extremely bogged down. Our server can handle everyone being inside the media player, but its best if people file in gradually in chunks at a time.
What is the moral of the story?
Do your prep, get inside, and know where your event will be playing at ahead of time. If you miss the fight, that is the fault of people who simply do not want to listen. They have been instructed, warned, guided, etc... but we cannot force people to listen and cooperate. If something happens, blame your peers.
Thank you!
